One of my favorite things about yoga is that you don't need much to do it. You don't need shoes, weights, machines, or gear to protect you from the elements. However, that doesn't mean there aren't a bajillion products out there to "better" your practice.
While I love all the new toys and gear, there are only a few things I need to get yoga done. These are my personal essentials.
Manduka Black Mat Pro
I have tried almost every other mat there is and nothing beats the "BLACK MAT." It's the best and once you get on one, it's tough to come off it. I suggest getting one of these even if you're brand new to yoga. It makes everything easier.
lululemon Wunder Unders -- Black
Nothing better pants. They feel like second skin, won't fade, they look amazing, and last forever.
I know that lululemon can get people's feathers ruffled, but all I know is that they make great clothes.
There is only one downside to their full on luon material. It's a magnet for pet hair. If you have a shedding animal, I suggest getting them in the luxtreme fabric.
Spotify Premium subscription
This is a must for life in general. Any essentials list should have it. I would be lost without it.
Music matters so much to me when I'm going anything, especially yoga.
a silky eye pillow
If you have trouble relaxing at the end of class, get one of these. It completely changed savasana for me! I take it with me anytime I'm going to a yoga class outside my studio (unless I know they do cold towels...yay 502 and Bend and Zen!).
