Ok. So we're practically four weeks into the third trimester now. I'm sorry, but I feel like I've been pregnant forever and I still have eight weeks to go. AHHHHHHHH...
I feel bad complaining because I've had zero problems or complications and everything has been basically perfect the whole time. I'm not that big, I'm not really swollen anywhere, no stretch marks, sleeping somewhat decent. But, man, this is not my favorite experience.
A few people at work have come up to me..."don't you just love it?!"
I'm writing this three days before Christmas, looking at twelve more days off work. I am going to go into full on prep mode: cooking for freezer, cleaning, getting last things ready. You know me, I'm going to be fully prepped as early as possible in case of an unexpected early arrival (which I highly doubt and hope will not happen).
With the holidays coming, things have been moving faster thank goodness. I have been neglecting my weekly report outs on books, movies, tv, etc so that I thought I would share a big list of things that have been making this third trimester a little bit better:
We've watched both seasons of this show from Amazon. So good! If you like Freaks and Geeks or John Hughes movies, this is for you. Amy Heckerling directs a lot of the episodes, so if you're a Clueless fan, there you go.
Last night we started The OA on Netflix. Whoa...if you think LOST or Black Mirror or Westworld were intense...it might give them a run for their money.
I read Annie Proulx's Barkskins, After Birth by Elisa Albert, and am going to start a new book today. I'm planning to stay in all day and try to get off my feet. After a full day of shopping yesterday, I've had some round ligament pain that is not fun at all.
I've been to the movie theater not once, but twice, since my last report. Unheard of! Saw Moana and Rogue One. Enjoyed both, but again, movies are nothing compared to any tv show you queue up.
Trying my best to keep some form of yoga practice going...it looks a lot like lying in supta baddha konasana on our new area rug with lots of blankets and bolsters!
Eating all the Christmas treats and not looking back.
Working to put out a short, but fun newsletter to our Nasty Women Midwest group every week. If you'd like to get it, sign up here.
So many great podcasts I can barely listen to them all. I am never without new episodes. All the usual suspects from NPR are keeping me informed/terrified about our world right now, The Gomers are back for their Christmas episodes, and of course all of the Best of 2016 episodes.
Lots more going on, but that's all I feel like writing for now--I'll be back next week with my annual resolutions post...should look a little different this year!
