Ok y'all. Let's do this.
After reading this piece from Gloria Steinem on Wednesday, I felt inspired, which was only bolstered by this post from my cousin Katie on instagram:
"I'm ready to start being a better advocate and helping those who need it most. I haven't done enough and I know many others feel the same. Change starts with us." @katied612
This election was brutal for women. An unbelievable injustice that is still so shocking it hasn't fully sunk in. We have the ability to come together and insure that women and their work are valued.
I am starting an online community to support and celebrate all the "nasty women" in these flyover states, America's Heartland, or whatever you want to call the Midwest. As a woman living in Kentuckiana, a region comprised of the two states called for Trump by 6:10pm, I see it as my duty to not sit back and watch, but to start doing something...only if it is writing a fun newsletter full of interviews, recommendations, and most likely, gifs in celebration and support of local women.
