This week will be my last week off for the summer. What a strange summer it has been...for many reasons. Every week I sit down to do this wrap-up, there is yet anything tragedy in the world. This week it was in Nice...oh what, then Turkey happened, oh what now today three officers are dead in Baton Rouge. What next? All I can do is try to follow the advice above...easier said than done.
Not that summer is over just because us crazies with "year-round" calendars are headed back to school... I actually do love this schedule and am ready to get back to work, but we still have all of August to get through...my least favorite month of the year. Hot and waiting for fall.
Mr. Robot is back and I thoroughly enjoyed the season premiere. Andrew hates it. It's the first show since GOT that we disagree on...bummer.
I realized that after I recently had to redownload PocketCasts, I forgot to add back Radio Cherry Bombe, which now means I have a bunch of back episodes to listen to! Score! Love that show.
I've also been obsessed with this song from Maggie Rogers.
Is it negative and petty to say, NOT Forecastle? Ha. Sorry...I just can't with it...
It was a bright spot to have dear friends Leslie and Ross in from out of town this weekend. Thanks for coming guys and see you again soon hopefully!
And I can also say what I am not doing, which is social media. I've been a total slacker this summer, not posting much and feeling generally disgusted by it. Surely it's a phase and shall pass. Again, end of summer blues...I truly don't like this time of year.
We've been blanket sliding in classes this week...always a crowd pleaser! Never done it?! Check this out to get an idea and then try it--it's a "humbler" as I say...
My favorite frites and brussel sprouts at The Exchange. Wedge salad. Pioneer Woman's Buttery Seasoned Crackers. More ice cream. Popsicles, brownies...about to head over to Mom's for fair parade supper.
About Alice by Calvin Trillin. Super short, but oh so brilliant. Loved it.
A fun new instagram account that has been fun and not contributing to the general social media malaise: @everyoutfitonsatc
A documentation of every outfit on Sex and the City. Makes me want to watch some SATC.
