August is almost over. Rejoice!
I thought of another reason it's so bad: no television whatsoever...just waiting for everything to come back....even Jeopardy is in reruns...not to mention, a lot of my podcasts as well!
Actually bought a couple baby items this week...it's starting...Ha! I'll definitely be able to focus in more after Friday when we go in to find out boy or girl. Can't wait, I'm the most impatient person ever.
The Great British Bake Off started again in the UK and we found a link to watch online. #sohappy
We are finally starting to get some new music that is decent such as a new album from Ingrid Michaelson, a surprisingly good new comeback from Britney Spears, Regina Spektor's Small Bill$, and some new singles from The Head and the Heart.
I went to the Kid Stuff sale in Louisville. UGH. I found a couple things new and at good prices, but sheesh. That was crazy and not in a good way. Yuck.
If feels a little wrong to say, but I also purchased my fall scented Yankee Candle. Don't worry, will not burn into after Labor Day.
Getting creative with strength work. I want maintain my shoulder strength and stamina as much as possible so I thought some creative handstand drills might be helpful...#feeltheburn
Thinking about trying this today...Laruga is awesome.
After years of seeing practically everyone I know locally gush about Feast BBQ, I picked some up carry out for dinner this week, which was preceeded the night before by the veggie feast above. Hey, it's all about balance! While it was tasty, I can't say I was blown away. Both Andrew and I are pretty sure that living in Austin for the short time we did permanently spoiled us with bbq. We were just saying the other night how we sometimes wish we could teleport to the Salt Lick for a night of feasting. We usually enjoy the vegetarian meals I make at home more than the meals we have out...which is good when you live in Corydon and restaurant choices are very limited.
The Friday night Corydon Farmer's Market is in full swing and I tried one of Caroline's popsicles this weekend while I was picking up a carton of eggs. Holy crap...insanely delicious! Her flavors are amazing and rival anything I've seen at places like Steel City Pops. I had the Lime, Avocado, and Blackberry and it was crazy. So fresh and perfect. All local readers: go get them this Friday!
I finally got around to picking up Karl Ove Knausgard's My Struggle series. Started book one and am almost finished. It's such a wild project and there is a high possible he's a crazed egomaniac, but I kind of love it.
The Food 52 Genius Recipes Cookbook. I've heard a lot about this book on their podcast, Burnt Toast, so I picked it up at the library. I wasn't a quarter of the way through it before I had 10 pages marked! Can't wait to make some of these recipes. Most notably, the Mushroom Bourguignon and the Spiced Braised Lentils & Tomatoes with Toasted Coconut.
