Yes, you read that title correctly, Simon is going to be a big brother this summer! AHHHH!
We have always known we wanted two kids and we wanted them close together, so here you go. I figure that as long I'm in this life stage, I might as well go all in. They will be 18 months apart and the thought of two under two only slightly terrifies me.
Now that I'm almost finished with the first trimester, I'm starting to feel like a human again. December and January have been two nauseous, exhausting months and I'm so ready to get on with it. However, I can say that it was pretty convenient for most of the first trimester to align with snowy cold weather and we were already stuck inside doing nothing.
Can't wait until next month when we find out boy or girl. Will be fabulous either way.
As predicted, I have hit some speed bumps in my reading. Still making it happen, but only managed to finish one this week:
This book is our February selection for bookclub. While I enjoyed parts of it, I have to stay the majority of it bored me. However, I come at this material with a considerable amount of fatigue given the subject of my master's program.
Not sure I can read any more about 1920s era literature and its authors, especially Americans abroad a la Gertrude Stein, Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dos Passos, etc.
I loved the descriptions of Perkins' editing process and the relationships he had with his writers, but man am I tired of reading about Hemingway and Fitzgerald and their masculinity. So tired of it. Let's move on.
