Sitting here somewhat exhausted after a long, but nice weekend. Getting this in right before I go tuck myself into bed.
My phone is dead until Wednesday (EEK!), the battery crapped out and a replacement is on the way. However, so far, being phoneless has bee wonderful. We watched the Olympics mostly all day today. We got real into the tie-breaker mixed doubles curling match between Norway and China. It's fun rooting for the Norwegian team! During the match, there was a lot of Norwegian being shouted across the ice while a Scottish announcer gave the play-by-play and for us it was like being in 2009 again! HA!
It was a productive week with Democratic Outreach committee meeting, bookclub hosting, teaching class, lots of reading, cooking, and other various things. I finished a brand new novel, Chloe Benjamin's The Immortalists, which has all the buzz and hype you can imagine. It was....fine? I'm not sure what to think. Has anyone read this?! I need to discuss with someone asap.
Uhhhh....so I've never listened to How I Built This with Guy Raz until this week. Holy crap, now I have a ton of back episodes for whenever I need a good nonpolitical podcast! Guy Raz annoys me a bit, but I love hearing the stories behind random companies like Melissa & Doug, barre3, and Clif bar, etc.
No more for me tonight. Have a good week all!
