So....it's officially summer and insanely hot already. So happy the public pool is open now as I type this, Margaret will be home from Costa Rica soon (her pool is fabulous and within a 30 second drive of the house...HA!).
We've also been taking advantage of the fountains at Bicentennial Park downtown, as well as their sprinklers!
Can't wait to make all of these regular pit stops for us. We also have our eyes on a few splash parks as well.
Before getting too excited, we still have three classes left at the studio before closing up for maternity leave. I will miss teaching -- we've had such a strong, regular group of practitioners for so long now that it feels tragic to cut them off! Not much I can do about it though...ha!
The garden is fully planted and now we wait for those delicious tomatoes! Our yearly tradition is making BLTs with the first of the season and I cannot wait! The one time a year we buy bacon and it's heaven.
Earlier this week I was able to sit down and relax with lunch, Samantha Bee, my planner, and a La Croix while Simon slept and it was just fabulous.
It's been a couple weeks since I reported out on books. I've read three:
I really enjoyed the Ozeki novel, was left disturbed and slightly disgusted by Melamed's Gather the Daughters, which is bookclub selection for next month. It will be a great discussion! I was majorly let down by Newman's travel memoir. I was expecting a fun travelogue of all the amazing locales, but it was mostly a detailed history of her wildly dysfunctional love life.
