link love

Almost every blog I read has a weekly link round up post. I always love them and I've run into several things lately that I would love to share as well.

Here are some fun reads and things for this snowy afternoon.

A piece on never wanting to be pregnant. Thank you for this Jessica Murnane. I find this take on motherhood and adoption to be RE-FRESH-ING.

Aziz. He's basically the best thing ever. So excited to watch his new special tomorrow night on Netflix.

I really enjoyed the first episode of the new Vulture TV podcast. Even if they said multiple good things about HBO's Girls. This season is awful right?!

One of my favorite people in the world was on Fresh Air today.

I've got these in a shopping bag on Prana, but am still on the fence. What do you think!? I think they might be really ugly.

Obsessed with this song.

What else? Oh yeah, this. Quite possibly my favorite collection of GIFs ever.

zazzle

10899190_417156148442787_470962058_n I am so excited about this post. And before you read any further, just know that this is NOT a sponsored post. I found Zazzle just a few weeks when researching possible sticker options for the studio and have been a little obsessed ever since.

My phone has been living in one of my most heinous Otter boxes imaginable. Mainly because when I bought my Samsung Galaxy 3 this fall (woohoo Virgin Mobile prepaid cell phones!) it was the only Otter Box still available for such an old phone. HA! After lunching with a dear friend that's way cooler and hipper than I am, I realized that it was just unacceptable. Totally joking of course, I know this is not a real issue in life, but I did think a new case might be fun. I ordered one just to see how it turned out and was blown away! I can't believe the quality--so good.

I have not been painting much the past couple of years. It's something I need to get back into. While living in Norway and Edinburgh I got a little obsessed with it. I have digital files of all that work and it translates very well into phone covers. Who knew!?

Each of these photos is linked to its listing on my Zazzle store. Go take a look! They are available on many, many different kinds of cases for a wide variety of smartphones and tablets. You are also in control of aligning the image and zooming in and out.

The possibilities are endless with this site. I kind of get overwhelmed thinking about all them. If you like these or want to design something of your own, head to my store on Zazzle.

excuse me while I love this blog

wish-list-smores So, I found Sara Cornelius' illustrated food blog awhile ago. Then completely forgot about it. Not her though, I've keep tabs on instagram, but somehow missed most of her feed?!

Whatever, we all know I'm a mess when it comes to organizing social media. Anywho, when she posted a beautiful illustration yesterday, I was reminded of her great blog. After reading an fantastic post of podcast recommendations, right when I'm needing new podcasts, I knew I had to do a post on her blog, Cake over Steak.

It's unique, beautiful, and aligned directly with my tastes. I feel like a total goober for forgetting about it!

Please forgive me Sara, you are awesome and I've added you to my Feedly. I await more posts...eagerly.

otto-the-book-bear-by-katie-cleminson-10433-p Such a sweet book this week. This week I'm reading (among other bear books, Corduroy and Baby Bear) Otto the Book Bear to kindergarten.

It's a wonderful celebration of books and libraries in general. Otto is a little bear who "lives in a book on shelf in a house." He gets left behind and has to find a new home in the big city library. It's just sweet and lovely.ottothebookbear Ottoblogottobook2ottothebookbearotto-the-book-bear3otto-the-book-bear6

Morris I have posted about this before, but I can't help myself, I've got to share it again. This week in the library we broken in our new Smartboard by watching The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. I show this to all grades every year. They all love it--it's just 15 minutes of perfect. Watch it here:

Manfish This week, third graders get the pleasure of hearing the book, Manfish: A Story of Jacques Cousteau. Written by Jennifer Berne and Illustrated by Eric Puybaret. There are so many amazing picture book biographies. This one is a win-win because the illustrations are insanely beautiful, the writing is great, and the kids love that it is a true story.

I am pretty much obsessed with Eric Puybaret's illustrations. Decided to look around and see what else he has done. Oh dear, look at these!

Sorry for absence on here... Got back from Asheville late last night, headed back for my first teacher day today. I'm ready to get back--I like the structure. I did skip my 5:30am yoga practice this morning...will get back on that wagon tomorrow.

Have a great week! 925048_652733314820000_138019326_n 1599432_269009063287274_432912850_n 1941264_1442663355995570_1044867909_n 10296981_1497666600452661_132921573_n

a stream of consciousness, internet surfing blog post

2014-07-01 16.37.29 Waiting. Closing on Wednesday...waiting to move. Trying to busy myself with going to yoga classes and doing laundry while drinking beer. Just got back from eating Mexican food and drinking margaritas at local El Nop, now nursing a glass of Charles Shaw chardonnay....these are my thoughts:

Question: what's up with microbreweries putting everything in cans now? Is this the thing? Not sure if I approve...

Loving Bon Iver's new song for the Wish I Were Here soundtrack:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2CbQpo-8CE&w=854&h=510]

I just found photos of the Full House cast having fun at Dave Coulier's wedding while listening to that song: .

Also catching up on some blog reading...Can we please talk about how much I love the photography print by Gray Malin (no, not because we have the same weird first name) that hangs over the couch of Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere? I really love his prints...like, a lot.

While trying to ignore the sounds of firecrackers being set off outside the house, I'm now blasting this song:

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjzbvWZm3xw&w=854&h=510]

While looking for some new house decor (seriously, I need to think of something else) on Pinterest, I just came across this photograph on my feed:

And then this? Say whaaaaa?!

Oh Pinterest....

And on that note, I've got to get up at 4:30am tomorrow to teach yoga....I KNOW.

I love how dedicated my students are...really, I do! HA!

See y'all
