bucket list

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset Well, I'm 30 today.

Wah wah...

I thought I'd take a minute to review my list of "things to do before I die" aka my Bucket List...even though I'm not a fan of that term.

I've kept a list in a notebook for awhile and I was pleased to find that when I got it out today, I've completed several. I thought I'd share (some) of my bucket list with the items accomplished crossed off. I feel very grateful for experiences I've had thus far...ready for more!

2014-11-17 20.55.45 Have I ever mentioned that Andrew gives the best gifts ever? Oh, dang, I have...oh well, it's totally true!

I convinced him to let me open my present early the other night and this was it! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I started off simple and made roasted red pepper and tomato soup last night. Insanely good and easy. If you have a Vitamix out there, how do you like to use it? I need ideas asap! Homemade nut butter here I come!

Happy Birthday Big Brother!

BabyAlex Happy Birthday Alex! My big brother turns 31 today. And because he's going to have a bitty baby of his own in only 7-8 weeks, I simply had to put up my favorite baby pic of him ever...I have never seen a baby with a larger head.

Super excited for Baby Porter to arrive...also excited for upcoming partay/baby shower next weekend.

Have a great birthday Alex!

a great present

Oh man.

I love my husband very much, but omg I love him even more whenever he gives me presents. Andrew has an amazing, amazing ability to give me the most perfect, thoughtful gifts EVER. ALWAYS. This dates back to when we were dating in high school. He has always given me the best presents. I have received surprise purses, satin pajamas, an autographed first edition of my favorite novel, footie pajamas, my best kitchen tool, an iPad, and who knows what else.

This birthday was no different. When we were in Asheville back in September, we looked at these books together at Malaprop's and I drooled over them. Of course, they were a little pricey, we left and I forgot about them.

Until...

I opened my present a few days ago and not only did he order me the two basic volumes, but every. single. book. in. the. series. OMG. OMG. OMG. Overwhelmed doesn't even describe it.

These yoga anatomy books written by Ray Long and illustrated by Chris Macivor are amazing. So beautiful and written in simple language that is easy to understand. They are great.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving--I'm hoping to have a great one full of brisket and birthday, photos to come.

Happy Birthday(s)

Okay, so I'm totally three days late, but whatevs, it's fine. Andrew's birthday was on Sunday...we didn't do much...he's not too big on birthdays anyways. It's also Mr. Forrest's birthday sometime in the spring (I'm not sure when exactly...man, I need to get birthday organized!).

He will be 8 years old!

We'll probably do something fun this weekend to celebrate, like maybe sofa bed shopping? Ha!

My girl Tate is visiting in a couple weeks and for once I don't want her to sleep on an air mattress!

A quiet birthday

Pretty gloomy day for my birthday---major rain and dark, dark clouds. Plus I had to work all day--in a very quiet office with a very slow-moving clock. However, I still managed to find a few ways to brighten up the day:

New birthday socks----thanks Mom!

One more day of work, then playtime for an entire week! Let's hope that we can get internet in the new house before then...
